YOW Project Engaging Youth, Families and Communities

The Centre for Resilience and Social Development (CRSD) in partnership with Boys and Girls Ottawa is servicing Somali-Canadian Youth and Families in Ottawa.

Who?

The Youth Outreach Worker staff work with youth aged 12 – 24 years and their families who are at risk of or engaging in anti-social criminal and/or risky behavior.

Why?

Some of these youth are disengaged from their communities, face multiple barriers to success, reside in an identified priority neighbourhood and/or belong to a distinct population as identified by MCYS.

How?

Youth Outreach Worker will engage youth in their assigned communities and connect them with needed services, as well as collaborate with other community resources to coordinate their activities within identified neighbourhoods.

Empowering Our Youth

We hope to empower Somali youth and families through culturally sensitive strategies that promote their overall health and well-being.
